Disney follows the path of Netflix

Disney has confirmed that a crackdown on password-sharing will begin in June this year, with the aim of increasing customer numbers and the company’s profits. With this step, Disney is starting to follow in the footsteps of Netflix. Let us tell you that Netflix had also stopped its users from sharing passwords last year, after which the number of users in Netflix also increased.

After seeing the benefits of this step taken by Netflix, now Disney has also announced a ban on password sharing. Users using the Disney platform now need to know that they will not be able to share their account password with any other person. Will start. In an interview with CNBC, Disney CEO Bob Iger revealed the company’s new plan to crack down on password-sharing. He said Disney plans to make its first attempt at preventing password sharing in June. However, it will be rolled out in some countries initially. The company is planning to extend the password share crackdown rule to every market around the world by the month of September this year.

New rule will be implemented from June

Earlier, Disney’s Chief Financial Officer, Hugh Johnston, had revealed that the company would send a prompt to sign up if it suspected inappropriate sharing, i.e. sharing an account with people outside the household. Disney was the first to reveal that it would follow Netflix’s lead and start taking action against password-sharing in February this year. Disney CFO Hugh Johnston said, “We want our great content to reach as many audiences as possible.”

Now it remains to be seen how long Disney will implement this new rule, and how much impact this new rule will have. According to Disney, after curbing password sharing, the number of their customers will increase and their earnings will also increase.
